We have been in our new building for over a month now and honestly we couldn’t be happier with the location! We loved our old studio, but this new place in built to be a studio and will really meet all of your recording needs. The studio, from what we can gather, was built in the 80′s as Longhorn Studios and has been the recording destination of several big name stars (one being Willie Nelson…we are still trying to confirm that!). If you haven’t seen some of the pics, check it out!

Looking at the live room from the back, towards the control room.

Another view of the hardwood side of the live room. Check out all of Dakota’s amps.

On March 1st we had our first big event at the new studio in order to break in the new place. Several of our friends and relatives came to the event along with our friends Danny and Stephanie Ellison and the boys from Callahan Divide, who provided us with some sweet tunes. We had around 60 people come to the open house that night!!

Here are a few pics from the event:

Thanks to our landlord for getting us this awesome sign as a “Congratulations” gift!!

We can’t wait for you to come to the studio and check it out. Give Preston a call at 325-455-4524 for information on booking and availability.

In case you didn’t get a chance to watch the video reviewing the past year, The Glass Jar Studio has found a new home out in Clyde, Texas. Clyde is a great little town of about 3500 people about 9 miles outside of Abilene. It’s going to be a great place for all you to retreat when you come to record your next album.

Due to some postponements and inclement weather the move has been stalled out for the past few days, but luckily 90% of our stuff is out at the new facility. And after a full day of soldering cables we should be good to go. Hopefully, we will have some pics up soon so you can see the facility. Also, hopefully in the next two weeks we will be having a little grand opening get together where those of you who can make the trip out there can come and tour the facility and enjoy some live music while you are there.

Come and see us soon! We can’t wait to show you the new place!

“I have been privileged to work in and with a few studios in my short time playing, and Glass Jar is definitely high on the favs list. The guys are easy to work with; The engineering is well done; The end result always seems to be better than planned; and the coffee is always hot. Thanks Glass Jar for all you do.”

Dub Wood
Bassist for Jason Nutt & Highway 70
Lubbock, Texas

“The music biz is really tough and stressful, but when you walk into Glass Jar that isn’t the case. The care that is shown through the entire process is unmatchable. Not to mention the top notch quality of sound that you end up with. Overall it is a comfortable, relaxing, and excellent experience. These guys know what it takes to get a song to reach its maximum potential. Thank you friends at Glass Jar Studio.”

Jason Nutt
Lead Singer Jason Nutt & Highway 70
Lubbock, Texas

“Glass Jar has made our first recording experience a truly unforgettable one! Between the talent they bring to the table and the professionalism they exhibit throughout the recording process, the engineers at Glass Jar Studio are hands-down at the top of the list of individuals we would trust to bring our music from idea to reality.”

Danny and Stephanie Ellison
Abilene, Texas

“Anything I can say for Glass Jar studios can be seen within about 10 min of being there yourself. The friendliness and professional environment only scratches the surface of the advantages of the Glass Jar. When these guys aren’t recording they are reading about recording and mixing. I, and the rest of Jason Nutt and Highway 70, have been witnesses to both the comfort and skill that Dakota and Preston posses as the Glass Jar’s owners and engineers. Do yourself and your band a favor and visit the Jar as soon as you get a chance.”

Clint Chapman
Lead guitar, Jason Nutt & Highway 70
Lubbock, Texas

“I have been in other studios before the glass jar and either experienced a situation where the operator of the other studios didn’t allow us to express our true sound or their equipment was inferior to that of the Glass Jar Studio. I love this studio and how’s it’s ran and once we finish our first album will for sure be looking forward to our second album in the Glass Jar! Thanks guys!”

Travis Fox
Drummer, Callahan Divide
Abilene, Texas

“The Glass Jar Studio is different, to say the least. Upon entering the studio you are immediately greeted with the smiling face of two guys who are genuinely glad to see you. The welcome at the door is only the beginning of the wonderful experience that is always in store. The quality of the work that these two guys do is above and beyond anything you would imagine. These guys have a gift, in recording/mixing and in production, a gift that has truly been a light for the Lord. The Glass Jar is a great, fun place to be and it is somewhere you’ll want to go back to again and again! I know I’m looking forward to our next session!”

Tyler Richardson
Drums – Jason Nutt & Highway 70
Lubbock, Texas

The Glass Jar is a place where you can be creative and have fun yet it still has a level of professionalism not found in most recording studios. New ideas are welcomed from artists. These guys love to flex their creativity and will help you attain the sound you’re looking for. While we were there we discovered what that was and we couldn’t be happier.

Joel Vaughn
Lead Singer-Joel Vaughn
Amarillo, Texas

“My week at the Glass Jar was a loads of fun. There was a great balance between being professional and being comfortable. The way that Dakota and Preston track the instruments is unique and very successful when it comes to getting a sound that is clean, but also has a real feel to it. The guys were super helpful as far as ideas go, but they never pushed any boundaries. They let the artist have creative control, and they’re not afraid to try off the wall ideas. I was super impressed with our final product. Great atmosphere. Great people. Do it. ”
